Funny is TWO!

Two years have passed way too quickly. It doesn’t seem possible that our 9 lb 3 oz bouncing baby boy is 2 years old!

It was a very happy birthday weekend for Caden! Funny apparently received my birthday gene which means that you celebrate, celebrate and celebrate some more.

On the birthday boys actually birthday we went to the DuPage Children’s Museum. It is an awesome learning place that we all enjoyed. Yaya and Titi joined us at the museum. We then took Funny to his favorite dining establishment, 2Toots Train Whistle Grill in Bartlett. Titi Wendy, Yaya, Grandma and Uncle J joined us for dinner and then cupcakes at home. It was a wonderful day.

On Saturday we had a very Mousketacular birthday party! Everywhere you looked was Mickey Mouse. Caden LOVES Mickey Mouse, he loves watching Mickey Mouse, he loves his Mickey Mouse doll, but what he doesn’t love is when a 6 foot Mickey Mouse actually attends his birthday party. I thought this was my greatest idea yet and when I pitched it to Joe he thought that maybe I was a little crazy, but let me do it anyways. So, I went ahead and booked Mickey Mouse to join our party. We paid for 1 hour and after approximately 25 minutes we kindly asked Mickey to leave. Poor Mickey Mouse was kicked out of the birthday party. After the birthday party our conversation went as follows:

Me: Did you have a good birthday party?
Funny: Yeah
Me: Did you have fun?
Funny: Yeah
Me: Did you love all of your presents?
Funny: Yeah
Me: Did you like Mickey Mouse?
Funny: No!

After the party Joe said, “I assume you won’t be asking for us to go to Disney anytime soon, right?”
Funny, Joe….real funny!

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday.

On Sunday, to top off the weekend celebration, we spent a bit of time at the park with Jenna and Evan (pictures to follow).

It was a great weekend and I am so excited to have a 2-year old! The fun is just beginning and I love every second of it.
